Installing the plugins

Hyndla Gift Cards comes as two plugins: the free plugin, which does all the work in your shop, and Pro, which builds on it. Pro cannot be activated without the free plugin, so the order matters.

You need WordPress with WooCommerce active, and an administrator account.

1. Install the free plugin

  1. Sign in to hyndla.no, open Products → Hyndla Gift Cards, and click Download free plugin under "Install the plugins".
  2. In the WordPress admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the zip file and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate Plugin.

Don't unzip the file – WordPress wants it as it is.

2. Install Pro

If you have a Pro licence, click Download Pro on the same page, then upload and activate that zip the same way. Later versions of Pro arrive as ordinary WordPress updates, so you won't need to download it again.

3. Activate the licence

Open Hyndla → Licences in the WordPress admin, paste the licence key (HYN-GC-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and click Activate. The key was emailed to you when the licence was issued. If you've lost it, rotate it on the product page – the old one then stops working.

Then connect the site to the Pro app.

If something goes wrong

  • "This plugin requires …": the free plugin or WooCommerce isn't active. Activate it first, then try again.
  • "Destination folder already exists": an older version is installed. Delete it under Plugins (your settings are kept) and upload again.
  • The licence is rejected: check the whole key was pasted, and that the licence shows as active on the product page.
